A digital trends professional, Chris Carlson has served as the executive-in-residence at Progress Partners in Boston since 2023. His responsibilities in this position primarily involve advising on transactions in the media, advertising, and technology industries. Previously, Chris Carlson, or Christopher, served for over six years as the chief operating officer and board director at MusicQubed, a leading micropayment-based private-label digital music service that he co-founded and grew to more than three million daily users. He successfully led the company to a $121 million sale.
In addition to his work in the digital trends space, Chris Carlson has held advisory and director positions with the boards of numerous media, software-as-a-service, and biotechnology and healthcare companies. He also supports entrepreneurship-focused groups, particularly those that meet the needs of underserved entrepreneur communities.
Mr. Carlson studied English and financial economics at Vanderbilt in Nashville, graduating cum laude. His interests outside of media and digital trends include spending time with his family and writing music. He also collects art and rare books.
